FAQ’s
Why PbJ?
(P)at (B)aby (J)esse. PbJ is so cute and sweet! PbJ sandwiches are one of our family favorites - served on birthdays and hot summer afternoons. It’s a classic, and we love it. Just like we love Pat, Jesse, and Baby Rumpelstiltskin.
When is the baby due?!
June 25th!
Where are Pat & Jesse registered?
You can shop from the comfort of your home (or the ISS or your spaceship or wherever you currently are) at BabyList. If you’d like to see them open your gift, please make sure to send it asap!
I want to send a gift, but I don’t have Pat & Jesse’s address…
If you send something from their BabyList registry, it’s automatically sent to them. If you want to go off-registery, just text me (216.571.3666) and I’ll send their address to you!
Times are tough right now. I’d love to celebrate with Pat & Jesse, but I can’t afford a gift.
Don’t worry about it. At every point in our family’s history, we would rather have you there without a present than a gift sent in your place, and this is no different. Except maybe that it is - imagine being pregnant during these times, spending all of your time inside and alone, unable to rejoice with family and friends. Let’s unite to show Pat & Jesse that we’re excited to welcome in a new member of the family!
There seem to be a lot of steps to your party? What all am I expected to do?
I know! I always make things complicated. It’s just because I want the party to be extra special for Pat & Jesse. You’re not required to do anything, but I’d appreciate it if you:
Make a short video giving the new parents encouragement and/or advice and send it to Max at maxparker@gmail.com.
Turn one of their pictures into a funny or sweet meme (it should go without saying, but let’s be nice). You can email this to Max, too.
Share a short story with Pat about what Jesse was like as a kid. You can add these directly to this website just by commenting on the blog post called “Little Did She Suspect…”
Send in the “Well Wishes for the Baby” by this Friday. I know that’s short notice, so I tried to make it easy by including a pre-addressed stamped envelope… I’d love for Pat & Jesse to have them before the shower!
On the day of the shower, get something to drink (Galaxy Grog, anyone?) and some snacks, grab your Party Pack (you can even set out the included decorations to help get the party vibe going!), and get comfortable. Log in to the Zoom meeting a couple of minutes early and it’s time to get this party started!
I’ve never used Zoom before. How does it work?
Check out this video here to see it in action!
You want a video giving advice to Pat & Jesse!? How do I make a good video?
I’ve asked myself that many times, but luckily Jasmine has stepped in to help us all out. Check out her video here and you’ll be making great videos in no time!
I’ve never made a meme. Is it hard? How do I do it?
It’s easy, as Jessamyn so gracefully shows us! Just check out her video here - it’s less than a minute long (and it probably only take you a 2 - 10 minutes to actually do even if you’ve never done it before).
What am I supposed to do with the things that arrived in the Party Pack?
Let Maxim guide through that here.
What is the “Signature Drink” and how do I make it?
The signature drink is intended to unite us and make us feel like we’re together, even when we’re separated by thousands of miles (or light years). For this party, we’ve chosen to go with Galaxy Grog. (It was originally called Galactic Grog, but I messed up the recipe cards and didn’t want to redo them…) For those of you close to Cleveland, we’ve added the ingredients in your Party Pack. For the Party Packs that had to be sent, we sent the Dinonaut Tea Bags and you’ll have to supply your own lemonade.
Making the drink is easy! Jules leads the way in this video, showing the entire process.
Why are there so many videos?
I really don’t know!
Maybe it’s because Jesse and Pat are filmmakers and it’s a nod to them and their Hollywood lifestyle. Except that they’re professionals and actually know what they’re doing.
Maybe it’s because I’m bored.
Maybe it’s because all of Rumpelstiltskin’s cousins wanted to help welcome him.
Or maybe it’s because I love you all and don’t want anyone to feel intimidated by the online venue. There are so many aspects to online life that are new to me, so I assume they may be new to a few of you, too. And if I can do it, anyone can - I promise. And if I’m wrong, just do what I did and ask a tween or teenager to help you. ; )
